Health Update

Carrie saw Dr. Leslie of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Feeding Team on October 20.  They were pleased to find that Carrie has continued to gain weight.  She has risen from the 4th percentile to the 25th percentile in the last 4 months.  Dr. Leslie discharged Carrie from the care of the feeding team and also authorized the discontinuation of Prevacid for acid reflux.

Custody Update

To date, neither Stewart's nor Carmen's attorneys have agreed to dependency.  Therefore, Carrie's attorney is proceeding to trial.  She is going to subpoena me for 11/2/05. Carmen has signed a surrender relinquishing her rights.  Carrie's attorney told me that she would like to propose that I be given legal custody. She said I can then proceed in Kentucky any way I choose.

Custody saga

Carrie's Ohio social worker told me that she received a letter from Norah (GAL) who received a letter from Carmen's attorney that she does not want to come to court and that she will agree to dependency because she wants to get this over with.

Disability

I received a denial for Carrie's disability application.  Her mom applied for disability in February 2005.  The letter is addressed to me because I updated them as to Carrie's current disposition.  The letter says in several places "you said that..."  These are references to what Carrie's mom told the disability determiniation office, NOT what I said.  In any case, her claim/app was denied.

Birthday

On Sunday, October 30, we will have a small gathering to celebrate Carrie's 2nd birthday.  From approximately 4PM to 6PM we will have light refreshments followed by cake and ice cream.  Gifts are not necessary, but Carrie always loves opening packages.  :-)

Carrie's birthday is actually on October 31.  We will be roaming the neighborhood that evening trick-or-treat-ing.

Carrie woke up several times in the night last night. She seemed very upset each time. Needless to say, I’m very tired today.

Mom called me to say that Stewart had been bugging her all week to bring him up to my house for a make-up visit. I told them it would be fine to come up and be with Carrie while I went out to eat with my friends. Kent and I met our other friends at Natasha’s restaurant. We got home at 8:45PM. Carrie was asleep and Stewart seemed like he couldn’t wait to get out and go home. Mom said they’d be back for another visit on Saturday. I told her that we were going to go to the Town Branch Trail dedication at 10AM. I told her to come around 12 since so they could be there when Carrie wakes up from her nap.

Picture Day!

I thought you might like to see these portrait photos.  I didn't plan to have her picture taken or I would have dressed her up a little cuter. They (daycare) took the pictures anyway.

I got an email from Gilda today saying, "I heard Stewart visited with Carrie by himself? The trial is coming up next month." I'm not sure what she's talking about because Stewart hasn't been alone with Carrie. Our mother has always been present, whether the visit is at my house, his house or her house. During the majority of visits, I am also around because many visits take place at my house or at our mom's house while I visit her. On one occasion I took Carrie to Stewart's apartment on a Friday evening for a 2-hour visit. Our mom met me there. I wrote Gilda back and told her so. I also asked what will happen at the November 2-3 trial given that Carmen wants to terminate her rights. She wrote back and said that both parents need to agree to dependency. If that is the case, the "trial" will last about one hour. Mother terminating her rights has no affect on the trial.

I talked to Mom this morning to see if she and Stewart were coming up to see Carrie. She said that Stewart had pretty much told her the same thing he told me on Friday. She hadn’t heard from his so far today and was planning on staying home because she doesn’t feel well.

Just before Carrie’s nap I decided to go see Mom. Rather than put Carrie down for a nap, I let her sleep in the car on the way. We arrived at mom’s around 1. I told her we would stay until 5.

While we were at Mom’s Stewart called her. He was angry that Carrie was at her house. She invited him to come also, but he refused saying he didn’t have the gas money. He called her many times during our visit. I heard Mom invite him each time, but he still didn’t come.

On my way home Stewart called me on my mobile phone several times. He accused mom of treating him like a dog. He accused both of us of conspiring to keep Carrie away from him. He’s still upset about the child/medical support filed by the State. I assured him that I didn’t file any claim and didn’t want his money. He told me that he did not intend to give up his visit this weekend. He said that he had been telling mom all week that he wanted to see Carrie. The truth is that he told me and mom separately that he was just going to give up and not have his visit. When I told him what I remembered, he said, “I see how you are. Just remember, I have a lawyer.” He kept complaining about mom not being a good supervisor and that he wanted a new one. I finally told him that I had to go fix dinner for Carrie and ended the call.
