Custody Questions
I've been meaning to ask someone this question, "What's next?" Stewart is supposed to comply with the things listed in the November 2 court entry, then we go to court again in March. I don't know what will happen next and wonder if my attorney can answer that.
Here's a little story that alarms me. I have a friend that worked at a daycare in Alabama many years ago. One child that attended was living with her grandparents because both parents basically abandoned her. When the little girl was 7 years old, the mom went to court in Florida and filed a motion for custody. She ended up with custody of the little girl even though she had never been involved in her life. Some questions that pop up for me are: Was this unique to Alabama-Florida courts? Can this happen to us years later when Christine decides to come out of the shadows and claim
Carrie? Would it be better if someone could convince Stewart to surrender his rights so that CSB can take permanent custody and reassign custody to me? Would I be able to adopt then?
This is a lot for anyone to process, but I would like my attorney's serious input.
