New Medication

Carrie saw Dr. R in Psychiatry today.  She (and Dr. M) decided to prescribe Tenex, which is a blood pressure medicine that has been shown to reduce impulsivity and tics.  Right now her dose is 1/4 tablet twice a day.  We go back in two weeks for a follow-up.  Initially, Dr. R (resident) suggested Zoloft and Clonodine, but Dr. M (attending) suggested the Tenex.  Right now, I'm going to trust their judgement and go with the recommendation.  Carrie will see her therapist Thursday.
